How can you tell if something is a bad idea? We’d like to think we can see warning signs that keep us from making bad decisions, but based on our track record, we are going to make at least a few mistakes. It only takes one bad decision to land us in a lawsuit, an EPA fine, or even a divorce.
A wise-man gets counsel from others and is even wiser. A wise-guy ignores warning signs and says “I got it handled.” Pride can be a great motivator but too much pride can lead to your destruction.
You don’t have to know everything to be a successful CEO or business owner, you just need to surround yourself with people who do. The most successful leaders I know have a group of leaders that have been given the freedom to speak truth into their lives at any time. Do you?
Letting other leaders know you and your goals will help keep you from making a decision you regret later on. As smart and experienced as we are, we will still come to a place where we want something so bad that we ignore the warning signs. Our CEO Peer Group members have shared stories of the large amounts of money and time lost because they ignored the wisdom of others.
This is one of the reasons successful CEO’s and business owners join REF CEO Peer Groups in DFW. Other people can see things we are too close to recognize as trouble. We know your passion and your vision enough to point out when something doesn’t seem right. We remind you of the things you told us you want to stop or start doing, so you stay focused. AND we do it all with love and respect for each other.
If you are willing to listen and learn from others, we have a seat at the table for you.
“Committed to your Personal and Professional Evolution.”
